Controlled release

Controlled release (CR) is a process where an active ingredient is released in a defined time frame and with a defined concentration gradient. A broad range of products are existing on today's markets, for example applications with fragrances, fertilizers, pheromones, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, etcetera. We consider this as an interesting opportunity of Solanyl® BP and new applications are being developed. Solanyl® BP is outstanding for applications where a controlled release matrix material is desired. It provides opportunities that are not or hardly achievable with bulk plastics. With Solanyl it is possible to work with a number of different release mechanisms, depending on the requirements in applications:

• dissolving
• biodegradation
• photo degradation (in combination with other materials)
